Egmont Reception
In collaboration with Barbara Bendix Becker
Originally designed in 1934 by architect Alfred Cock-Clausen, the Egmont House on Vognmagergade stands as a testament to classic Danish architecture.
To better reflect Egmont’s dynamic creative space—spanning books, film, TV, magazines, games, and education—we transformed the traditional reception space with a welcoming community table, which unfolds their products and sets the tone for a more open and informal arrival experience.

The original palette—black marble on the exterior and warm travertine inside—was carefully preserved and enhanced. The former dark, heavy reception counter was redesigned in light travertine, transforming it into an elegant, sculptural focal point. Thoughtfully detailed brass elements, including bespoke covers for cable storage, elevate the natural beauty of the stone.
To complement the space, Fritz Hansen’s iconic Grand Prix chairs were introduced in soft, muted tones. A light, cohesive colour palette used across furnishings and textiles ties the room together, creating a calm, inviting, and contemporary atmosphere that feels both elevated and approachable.
